Welcome the all-new 350kmph Porsche 911 that comes straight from the 80s. Yes the body shell looks like it has come straight from a 964-series Porsche 911 but underneath it is an ultra-modern car. Ruf builds its own Porsches i.e. they take the unmarked chassis/platforms from Porsche and then develop their own cars that look like Porsches but go faster, much faster.

Ruf shot into fame was the CTR Yellowbird – the tuned yellow Porsche 964 911. Ruf might not be known to many but ask any Porsche enthusiast and they would probably go on for ever. The carbon fibre monocoque chassis with front and rear steel crash frames has an integrated roll-cage built in with control-arm suspension on all four corners with push-rod operated coil-over dampers. The 964-like body has been developed to provide maximum downforce including the vintage duck-tail rear spoiler. While the five-spoke alloys look dapper, wheels like those classic Fuchs would have taken this to another level.

The engine also comes from yesteryear Porsches. The Mezger 3.6-litre water cooled flat-six engine gets two gigantic turbochargers pumping out 700bhp of power and a whopping 880Nm of torque. The Ruf 911 CTR weighs just a few stones above 1200kg which makes sure it goes beyond 100kmph in 3.5 seconds and 200kmph in less than nine seconds on its way to a top speed of about 350kmph. Only 30 of these will be built with a manual gearbox and the rest with dual-clutch automatics and will cost you close to $800,000 (approx. Rs 5 crore).
