      General Motors India warming up for the Chevrolet Sail U-VA launch in Indian market around the first week of November 2012

      General Motors India Private Limited (GMIPL), the country's fifth largest passenger car maker, is working on the media build up and promotional campaigns of its next launch in domestic market - the premium hatchback Chevrolet Sail U-VA. Industry experts believe that the new car may be launched by the end of first week of November 2012.

      Recently, the company launched a revamped version of its popular entry-level hatchback Chevrolet Spark in the domestic market on October 25, 2012. The new facelifted Spark is pegged to put out big competition against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, Alto and Hyundai Eon. The arrival of Sail U-VA will make two launches in two weeks for the American auto major.

      The yet-to-be launched 2012 Chevrolet Sail U-VA is anticipated to come trimmed with some first-in-class interior and exterior attributes bundled in its overall package. The American auto giant has claimed that the upcoming Chevrolet Sail U-VA houses a 1.3 litre Diesel Smartech engine that delivers an impressive fuel efficiency of 22.1 kmpl. Further, the new hatchback's petrol model incorporates a 1.2 litre Smartech motor, which churns out best-in-class power and torque equation.

      General Motors India unveiled the Sail U-VA hatchback at the New Delhi Auto Expo held in January 2012 and since then the rumour-mill is abuzz with the anticipation of the car's launch in the country. The upcoming Chevy Sail U-VA will be placed in premium segment, besides getting involved in a stiff face off against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ritz, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i20, Toyota Etios Liva, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia and Fiat Grande Punto.
