The tenth generation Honda Civic received a revised version of the 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine. It will be available for sale from March 2018. Prices for the Civic diesel are yet to be disclosed.

The reworked oil burner produces 118bhp and 300Nm. Honda promises a fuel economy of 26kmpl from the frugal diesel motor. The upgrades to the engine includes high-strength pistons and low-friction cylinder bores. This has caused the NVH levels to improve as well, boasted the Japanese carmaker. The new Civic diesel is no slouch either. It will do a 0-100kmph sprint in around 10.4 seconds.

The sedan also gets the new nine-speed automatic gearbox. This is the first time that Honda has introduced this newly developed transmission in a two-wheel-drive car.
