As a part of Ford Motor's strategy to offer the globally acclaimed vehicles in Philippines, Mustang will also soon head towards the nation. The delivery of the car will kick-off in September 2012 and will be offered in two different trims. However, the American car maker is still working on the next generation model of Mustang, which will be launched in the global arena.

The basic variant of the car will be powered by a 3.7 litre V6 powertrain, which will be capable of churning out a maximum power of 305 bhp. On the other hand, the Ford Mustang GT will feature a 5.0 litre V8 unit that can deliver a maximum power output of 402 bhp. The basic model will come with a tag of USD 59,900, which roughly translates into Rs. 33.18 lacs, while, the GT model is priced at USD 69,400, around Rs. 38.44 lacs.

President, Ford Group, Philippines, Randy Krieger, stated that the brand is quite optimistic about the success of their iconic car in the country and will attract many potential customers who would be enticed with its arrival. However, the announcement has raised many questions regarding where the car will be launched next, among others. Chances for the Indian auto market are also quite strong. As of now, the Indian auto market is going its way with Ford EcoSport, which is scheduled to be introduced in the industry soon.

The Ford Mustang is not the first car from Ford to be launched in Philippines, since models like Ranger pick-up truck have been introduced there by the American marque. In the country, the auto maker has also launched its Explorer 2.0 EcoBoost SUV and the Ford Focus. The existing exclusive dealerships of Ford in Philippines will channel the new launch. In order to expand its reach in the global market, the company is putting-in hard efforts and employing whooping investments for the same.e='1 -a} q al","sans-serif";mso-ansi-language:EN-GB'>

In June 2012, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki, R.C. Bhargava stated that the car maker is planning to shut-down the production at its Gurgaon factory to turn it into a powertrain manufacturing plant. According to him, MSIL is all set to shift its production potential to their in-construction plant at Mehsana, Gujarat.

There are no second thoughts about Modi's desire to turn his state into an international automotive hub. Before the commencement of his tenure as CM, the only reputed car maker present in the state was US-based General Motors. The American car maker forayed into the state back in 1990's to set up a plant at Halol in Vadodara district. Since then, after Modi came into effect, big players of auto industry like Ford India, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Bombardier and Asia Motor Works, a heavy Commercial Vehicle (CV) manufacturer, has entered Gujarat to set up their facilities in Sanand.

With country's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, too scouting for land in the region, it seems Modi is not so far from turning his dream into reality.
