Ford was spotted testing a heavily camouflaged GT500. Unlike the earlier sighting where the car only had a concealed nose, this time around the prototype was comprehensively camouflaged, and proves that it is in the final design stages.

In addition to the concealed exteriors, we also noticed that the test mule did not have a wing like it did the last time. Also, despite the wheels being covered too, the photographer was able to get a glimpse of the tyre’s side-wall which disclosed the use of 20-inch wheels with 305-section rubber. The deviation from the GT350’s tyres coupled with the absence of the wing, confirm that this is not an iteration of the GT350, and is indeed the GT500.

Though the camouflage does a good job of masking the looks of this version, you can still see the sharp edges of the grille and bumpers. Sources suggest that the new GT500 will carry design cues from the Ford Mustang, but we can confirm this only when the car is seen in flesh at the next Detroit Motor Show. We will share more news on the Ford Shelby GT500 in the time to come.
