Ford starts testing the next-gen Fiesta in Europe

The Ford Fiesta's next-gen variant has been spied testing in Europe. The camouflaged test mule is in its early stages of testing and the production version is expected to be launched in 2018.

This next-gen Fiesta looks pretty different from the current-gen hatchback sold in the global market. The new car is wider and its fascia sports new headlights and a redesigned grille. The overall appearance seems to be more chiseled in comparison to the existing model. Though we do not have a picture of the interior, spy photographers say that it is different from the current Fiesta's cabin. We can expect a very modern interior with the latest iteration of Ford Sync.

On the engine front, no details have been revealed yet. However, we can expect the car to come powered by the three- and four cylinder engine options for the international market.

The current Ford Fiesta is sold globally since 2008 and its replacement is expected to come in 2018 only. It will be sold in different body-styles including three-door, five-door hatchback and a sedan. The latter body-style is for the emerging markets and we can expect it to be brought to India. It will then come as a successor to the present Ford Fiesta sedan in the Indian market.
