After showcasing it at the 2016 Auto Expo, Ford India has imported a handful of Mustangs, as seen at one of the brand’s stock yard. The Mustang, as we know, is due to be launched within the next couple of months and will be sold as Ford India’s halo offering.

The India-spec Mustang will get the full fat 5-litre V8 engine that produces over 420bhp of power and 530Nm of torque. All that American muscle will be transferred to the road via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Globally, Ford also sells the Mustang with a more driver-focused 6-speed manual – an option that’s not on offer for India-spec cars. The brand also offers a V6 and a four-cylinder version abroad.

India will be getting the European-spec Mustang which is slightly different from the American-spec model. Key changes include redesigned hood, wing mirrors and headlight detailing. Mechanically, the car features a smaller exhaust manifold compared to the American-spec model which has resulted in a power drop of around 5bhp. Ford India is expected to launch the Mustang in the next couple of months, with prices in the region of Rs 75 lakh to Rs 80 lakh.
