Ford currently ships Figo hatchback, EcoSport compact SUV and Classic sedan to other markets including Africa and Middle East. Ford’s new plant is being built in Gujarat, once work starts at the new manufacturing unit the overall production capacity will also increase. One another vital reason for making India the production hub is that production is very cost-effective in India which makes it a viable option for manufacturing.

Ford is presently readying to roll out tweaked Fiesta sedan in the domestic market. Other than this, the company is also working on Figo sedan that was showcased in Greater Noida at the 12th edition of Auto Expo held in February this year. The Figo sedan is sold in Brazil as Ka+ sedan, Ford’s Brazil arm revealed image of the latter which had striking similarity with the Figo sedan exhibited at the grand auto exposition. The Figo sedan is expected to replace ageing Classic sedan in India, the vehicle is expected to hit Indian shores by next year.
