Ford Motors India is planning to hike prices of all its models from next month. The existing models will be pricier by Rs. 6000 to Rs 40000 depending upon variants of each model. The company attributes the rise in prices to high input costs and fluctuating currency that have made imports costlier. So far the company had absorbed the rise in costs but now some part of these costs will be passed on to the customers as well.
New Ford Ikon petrol model will cost Rs. 4.83 lakh while diesel model will be Rs. 5.43 lakh. Ford Fiesta 1.6L EXI model will cost about Rs. 6.31 lakh and ZXI model Rs. 6.46 lakh while SXI and S model will cost Rs. 7.06 each. The diesel variants of Ford Fiesta will be available in the price range of Rs. 6.99 lakh to Rs. 8.07 lakh. Ford Endeavour 4x2 will cost Rs. 15.99 lakh and the $WD model will be priced at Rs. 18.39 lakh.
Ford launched its small car model Figo in September this year. It will display its small car model at the Delhi Auto Expo and this small car model will depict that Ford Motors intends to boost its presence in India. the car “shows how serious we are about India,” according to Ford CEO Alan Mulally.
