Ford India, the domestic arm of American auto maker, has come up with new features for its flagship Classic sedan. The auto maker has introduced a limited edition model of Classic sedan in the CLXi trim. Industry experts are of a view that with the introduction of a new variant, the auto maker is looking ahead to capitalise on the improving conditions of the Indian auto market.
Sources close to the development process have revealed that Ford India has introduced several new features in the regular model of Classic sedan, which has made it a Limited Edition car. The new features include fog lamps in the front bumper. Reportedly, this feature was only incorporated in the top-end Titanium variant of the Classic sedan, which has been now added to the Limited Edition model as well. Along with, the company has added alloy wheels to the CLXi Limited Edition. Interestingly, this accessory was also only available with the Titanium version, while other variants were offered with wheel covers. However, the size of wheel continues to be same with 175/65 14-inch tubeless tires. A chrome treatment can be also seen on the grill as against the usual black metallic paint.
The CLXi variant also flaunts a chrome plated garnish at the rear for the number plate holder. A thing to note here is that this feature is not even available in the Titanium variant of the Classic sedan. Also, a rear spoiler has been added to the Limited Edition model, which was also seen on the Fiesta S variant. Coming to the highlights of new model’s interiors, the auto maker has offered designer premium upholstery for enhanced comfort of its passengers. Adding to the list of features, reverse parking sensors have been also equipped in the CLXi Limited Edition model.
Reportedly, the bookings for this new model has been started from June 14, 2013 and no closure date has been known yet. Also, the prices of this limited edition model has not been officially revealed yet by the auto maker. The current generation CLXi petrol model is offered with a price tag of Rs. 6.3 lakh (ex-Showroom, Delhi), whereas its diesel guise is sold for Rs. 7.4 lakh (ex-Showroom Delhi).
