      Ford India reports an increase of 42.2 per cent in December 2012 sales

      Ford Motor, the well-established American auto maker, registered a growth of 42.2 per cent in December 2012 sales with figures standing at 10889 units against 7663 units delivered in year-ago period. During the month, the auto company managed to sell 6517 units in the local markets in contrast to 5978 sold in December 2011, with a growth of 9 per cent. Exports of Ford India jumped up by record 160 per cent to 4382 units from 1685 units recorded in the corresponding period of 2011. Similarly, year-to-date exports were at 30435 units, up by 35 per cent from 2011.

      Expressing his satisfaction over the numbers achieved in India, Joginder Singh, President and Managing Director at Ford India said, “Despite a tough business environment, we have seen record exports and sustained customer interest in December.” He further said that the company would continue to focus on creating products and services, which would have quality and green as well as safe attributes.

      As a sales exercise, Ford India organised a ‘Midnight Sale’ on 5th December 2012, wherein 160 dealerships across the country were open from 8 am to midnight. Customers were able to win free gifts and avail exciting offers with every purchase at the Midnight Sale. Throughout December 2012, celebrations were organised in the form of ‘December Dhamaal’.
