The Vice President in Sales for Ford India, Anurag Mehrotra was quoted as saying, “Despite the difficult industry situation we are confident of the long-term potential of the Indian market, Stronger export sales are a clear sign that our One Ford plan is working with more products that consumers want and value. With our aggressive expansion plans and the introduction of exciting new global products and technologies in India, we’re reiterating our commitment to the region.”

It must be noted that this commitment was showcased in Goa, where the auto maker organised a unique experiential Tech Deep Dive and pre-launch drive for the much awaited Ford EcoSport Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV). Around 200 oversees and domestic media attended the drive in May 2013 and came up with extreme positive reviews on the upcoming compact SUV of Ford Motors. It is being reported that the new SUV of Ford Motors will be offered to the Indian buyers in the first half of June 2013. Mehrotra further said, “We are thrilled with the rave reviews for the EcoSport and are confident that it will be a game-changer that will strengthen our position in India.”

With the launch of EcoSport SUV in India, Ford will offer some of the highly advanced technologies to the domestic market. The upcoming model will come equipped with a award winning 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine, in-car connectivity and SYNC, along with joint entertainment system, which has been exclusively designed by the Microsoft. Interestingly, EcoSport will be the first car in the Indian auto market, which will come mated with Ford’s pioneering Emergency Assist System.

He further added, “In addition to our commitment to bringing new vehicles to India, we are focused on augmenting the customer experience and going further to increase our footprint in India. The 3S facility in Nalgonda brings us a step closer to our goal of having more than 500 sales and service outlets across India around mid-decade.”

It must be noted that several enticing festive offers from Ford India has already pulled some decent volumes from the market during May 2013 on the models like Figo hatchback and Classic sedan on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya. However, this excitement is expected to move on till June 2013 because of MyEndeavour alterrain, which is a five-part adventure driving series of the National Geographic Channel. Also, Ford India continued to implement its plans to explore a wide network of customers with the inauguration of a 3S facility in Nalgonda (Andhra Pradesh).
