The festive season has brought in a great deal of happiness for the automotive industry and just like several other car makers, Ford India too managed to keep its sales figure healthy with its total domestic wholesales and export vehicles amounting to 10,948 in the month of October.

The demand for commercial vehicles, despite several market challenges in the country, remained steady with 7,577 vehicles sold in October 2012 which is certainly a good number. The total number of vehicles that Ford India sold in October last year stood at 8,091 vehicles. Though the total vehicles sold in October 2012 is less than October 2011, the export numbers are around 20 per cent higher. Ford India shipped 3,371 cars in October 2012, whereas this figure stood at 2,815 units in October 2011.

Talking about this, Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India said, "Festive season is always a very busy time for vehicle sales in India. The team has been working very hard to satisfy domestic and export demand. Despite some of the ongoing market challenges, we have again sold close to 11,000 vehicles. Despite some ongoing market challenges, we are extremely proud to have had our second best month in October. The successful launch last month of the enriched New Figo further reinforces its reputation as a reliable, substantial vehicle with outstanding value.”

In order to provide quality service and cut down the cost of ownership, Ford India opened Quick Lane service at Metro Ford, Yeshwantpur in Bangalore. It further increased its pan-Indian sales and service network by opening Parts Distribution Centre in Mumbai, which was the company's third such centre in the country. Ford India also opened a new dealership in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh which took its sales and service outlets to 241 across 127 cities in the India.

Boneham further pointed out that, “We wish our customers the very best this festive season and are firmly committed to bringing them world-class Ford products and services in the future. Initiatives like Quick Lane and strengthening our sales and service networks are steps in that direction."
