After launching the new generation version of its Fiesta sedan in the Indian market, the US based leading car maker Ford is now gearing-up to roll-out a new hatchback version of Fiesta in the country. The Fiesta Hatchback is expected to hit the Indian roads by next year. The new car will be placed in the premium hatchback segment above the compact hatchback Figo.
The hatchback is expected to be powered by the same 1.5L petrol and diesel engine units as available in the Fiesta sedan. Moreover, a lower powered 1.2L engine version is also expected to be offered, and this would be the same engine which is powering Figo hatchback of the company.
Blessed with the Ford’s new kinetic design, the new Fiesta hatchback will be carrying a futuristic design at the exterior. The car is speculated to be loaded with a range of styling and sporty features including two tier grille and large headlamps borrowed from Fiesta sedan, a short hatch, spoiler and newly designed tail lamps.
The Fiesta hatchback is available in a number of world markets and carries the same interior as available in sedan version. The same could be expected for the Indian version of the car.
The Fiesta hatchback is expected to be priced in the segment of Sub Rs 6 lakh, where it will be taking on with the likes of Skoda Fabia, Honda Jazz and Hyundai i20.
It is to be mentioned here that Ford India has planned-up to roll-out as many as 8 new car models in the Indian market over a period of next few years
