Ford India has recalled approximately 42,300 Figo and Aspire cars. The recall affects all cars made in Ford’s new Sanand plant since its launch on April 12, 2016. A few days ago we wrote about how Ford had stopped selling these cars (you can read it here).
The vehicles concerned with this recall contain a software issue with the Restraint Control Module (RCM) which could lead the airbags to not deploy in certain collisions. Customers will have to get their car’s software upgrade carried out free of charge through a Ford dealership.
Ford has already carried the software upgrade with cars in stock with Ford dealers leading to deliveries being restarted of the Figo and Aspire.
