EcoSport has been a show stopper for American car-maker Ford since its launch in the country a while ago. Compact dimension on the exterior with good space in the interior made it an ideal choice even for the urban commuter. The SUV has recently earned the title for being India's most awarded passenger car and has accumulated about 30 awards. As per a latest update, the newer version of Ecosport Ecoboost shall receive new energy efficient variable compressor technology that renders better power and fuel consumption figures as compared to the older technologies.
The new AC compressor technology is beneficial especially during summers when the temperature within the cabin area rises over 60 degree Celsius. A regular climate control feature found in other cars is capable of blowing out cool air temperature of just about 15 degrees Celsius, whereas the new Ecosport with advanced AC compressor the air being blown out from the vent is as low as 10 degree Celsius. No matter how hot it is outside, the occupants shall always remain cool on the inside.
Speaking more on the development, Paul Merlo, climate control supervisor, Ford South America, said, “The system is designed to cool down the vehicle very fast at maximum fan and air velocity. This performance allows you to reduce the blower fan speed (and airflow) quicker and allow the customer to maintain comfort in a quieter environment.” Unlike regular conventional ones that function on maximum output principle, the variable compressor comes with additional intelligence that is capable of controlling the power drawn by the compressor. Moreover, the new compressor shall also be loaded with latest Internal Heat Exchanger technology that delivers unmatched cooling performance.
Ecosport variant that is powered by 1.0 Liter EcoBoost engine features intelligence that assists powertrain control module in managing the amount of power that the vehicle is drawing at any given point in time. Thanks to the Oil Separator technology, the vehicle also delivers better efficiency figures.
