Last year, Ford exported about 55,178 EcoSport units, while this year it has exported 83,325 units thereby registering a growth of 51 per cent. The American automaker’s India unit has been exporting the EcoSport to several markets including Europe. The data released by Society of Indian Automobiles Manufacturers (SIAM) also shows that Hyundai Motor India, one of the key players in India who has been witnessing drop in sales for two consecutive years, has managed to have its two new products Creta and Xcent in the top 10 list. Hyundai has four models in the top 10 with the other two being the i10 and Grand i10.

Nissan Micra which held a top position last year with 76,120 units, witnessed a one per cent drop with 75,456 units exported. Maruti Suzuki Alto has witnessed a big growth with 54,656 units exported this year as compared to 31,594 units exported last year. The growth is attributed to exports to Sri Lanka which has gone up to 34,600 units this year as compared to 10,200 units last year.
