The Classic sedan from the American company, Ford failed to attain high numbers on the sales chart in the Indian market owing to its plain looks and presence of better alternatives in the market. In recent time Ford Ecosport, the compact SUV from the company’s production line has been a huge hit in the local market.
The Classic sedan from Ford is available in Petrol as well as Diesel variant. The petrol version is powered by 1.6 Liter engine that generates about 101 Ps of power with 146 Nm of torque. The diesel version is powered by 1.4 Liter engine that generates about 68 Ps of max power with 160 Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to five speed manual transmission. As per ARAI tests, the Classic sedan delivers a fuel efficiency figures of about 14.09 Kmpl in petrol and 19.68 Kmpl in diesel version.
The interior in the Ford Classic is fairly decent and comfortably accommodates up to five passengers. The higher end Titanium version gets a full beige theme interior that lends it a nice upmarket feel. The dashboard is adorned with Bluetooth enabled MP3 player with CD player and aux-in facility. On the exterior front, the Classic sedan gets fog lamps that are smartly integrated in the front bumpers. Tubeless tires on alloy wheels lend it a stylish feel along with enhanced safety. The exterior looks fairly decent and matured in the sedan segment.
The price for Ford Classic starts from Rs 4.88 Lakhs (Ex showroom Delhi) for base petrol variant and the base model of diesel variant is priced at Rs. 6.18 Lakhs (Ex showroom Delhi). The vehicle is set to compete against the likes of Honda Amaze, Suzuki Swift Dzire, Fiat Linea Classic, Chevrolet Sail,and others in the entry level sedan segment. The Classic sedan features a powerful engine that is up for grabs within the five lakh segment.
