These are the first pictures of Ford’s facelifted Transit Connect doing the rounds in Dearborn, Michigan. The Transit Connect went in for a major upgrade in 2015 after the earlier generation model served for a little less than a decade.

From the looks of this test mule, it seems that Ford has already begun working on the facelifted version of the Transit Connect. On closer inspection, the more angular design of the front fascia becomes noticeable, especially around the grille and the head lamps. Furthermore, the slats on the air dams are wider and the concealed fog lamps point to some sort of revised styling there too. Though the alloys continue to sport the same five-spoke split-beam design, the rear section of the van highlights the restyled tail lamps. However, we couldn’t identify the sheet metal changes as the heavy camouflage successfully masked the car.

The Transit Connect is based on the Ford Focus, which is slated to get an overhaul in the future. This means that the current generation Transit Connect should continue to serve in its current capacity for some more time until the new model arrives. Experts believe that the facelifted Ford Transit Connect may hit the market sometime in early 2019.
