Tata Motors has recently rolled out the first batch of the Tata Tigor Electric Vehicles. These EVs have been manufactured for the Energy Efficiency Services (EESL), an entity under the Ministry of Power.
The pictures show the new electric Tigors that came out of the carmaker's manufacturing plant at Sanand in Gujarat. Tata Motors is expected to provide 10,000 EVs overall to the Indian Government. For now, 250 units of these electric Tigors are to be delivered in the phase 1. The automaker has already got the letter of authority (LoA) for this consignment and will soon get another LoA for another 100 such cars.
Even if the electric Tata Tigor looks similar to the regular Tigor, save for the EV badge, the Tigor EV gets a new powertrain. It's an electric drive system developed and supplied by Electra EV, which is a company established to develop and supply electric drive systems for the automotive sector.
