For a while now news had been doing rounds that Fiat has been working on a new entry level model. Sources have managed to capture the image of the vehicle codenamed X1H while it was in transit atop a vehicle carrier in Brazil. It is believed that the company may begin production for the vehicle sometime in January next year and could be launched in South America sometime in mid 2016.
The Fiat X1H is expected to be powered by Palio Fire sourced 1.0-litre engine that would be mated to 5-speed manual transmission and generate about 73bhp. Sources have also indicated on a possibility of a 12-valve turbocharged 1.0-litre four-cylinder being offered. It is believed that the company could also offer a stop-start feature along with improved fuel economy and lowered CO2 emission levels.
The upcoming X1H based on the Uno platform could carry some similarities in terms of front doors, windshields and roof stamping. More details about the vehicle may be known in the coming days. The pricing aspect shall also be known later date.
