Italian carmaker Fiat has been thrilling the Indian customers with the recent introduction of Abarth Punto and Abarth Avventura. This time around, sources have spotted the Linea that seems to have received the Abarth treatment. The Abarth version of Linea has been spotted at the company’s Ranjangaon facility thereby hinting on a possible launch sometime soon.
It is believed that the Linea Abarth may be powered by 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged (T-Jet) petrol engine that currently serves the Abarth variant of Punto and Avventura. The T-Jet engine in Abarth Punto generates a massive 145bhp at 5,500rpm and 212Nm of torque at about 2,000-4,000 rpm, while the one in Abarth Avventura generates about 140bhp of power and 210Nm or torque. Both the trims are offered with 5-speed manual transmission.
It is yet to be seen how much the T-Jet would produce on the Abarth Linea. Going by anticipation, it is likely to be offered as the fastest one in its segment. The pricing and more details may be known in the coming days.
