Fiat has finally launched the Mobi in Brazil at Real 31,900 (Rs 6.08 lakh).
The Mobi is based on the Uno but the length and wheelbase of the car have been cut down to lend it with better agility in traffic. Fiat is advertising heavily that car buyers don’t need anything more than a Mobi for day-to-day city driving. This hatchback looks better when viewed in flesh and the car maker has taken measures to adorn the Mobi with excellent build quality.
While cabin space is quite similar to the Uno, things like the circular air vents, sound system in the centre console and air vent controls have been carried forward. However, cabin space in the rear is limited to two adults. The boot can be used for 235 litres of luggage space. The Mobi comes equipped with the 1.0-litre Fire motor which produces 75bhp and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Being 60kgs lighter than the Uno, we can predict this hatch to give improved performance and fuel efficiency. Fiat’s Mobi will be sold alongside segment contenders like the cheerful VW Up!, and the car maker is positive of taking up a sizeable share of this market.
