Fiat India is looking to aggressively market itself in the year 2013, with a number of new models, variants and dealerships planned to be launched in the current fiscal. One of the new models will be the new Turbo-Jet Fiat Linea, which is all set to make a comeback in the country soon. As per industry sources, it was revealed that the Linea T-Jet would be put into production during May 2013, following which its launch could take place in June.

Interestingly, during the month of May, Fiat India would also be making the 2013 versions of the Punto and the Linea, according to which the T-Jet version's launch would be exactly on time. The biggest selling point for the new Linea T-Jet would be an imported 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine. This would help the car generate a substantial power output of 118 bhp and a high torque output of 207 Nm, making it a driver's delight. The engine of this front-wheel drive car would be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition, disc brakes would be fitted on all four wheels, to enable greater control of the high power and torque.

The Linea T-Jet was the first Turbo engined petrol vehicle for India, which was once a great fun to drive. However, the vehicle failed to register strong sales, due to which it was taken off the shelf. This year, with an aggressive marketing campaign, Fiat India hopes to turn the tide around and sell the T-Jet in good numbers. Television commercials for the 2013 Linea and the Punto can already be seen on air during prime time. In terms of safety features, the 2013 Linea would get airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) as part of standard equipment.

Apart from increasing dealerships, Fiat India will also increase the number of service centres in the country. Availability of spare parts is also an important issue, which can help increase the sales of its brilliantly engineered cars.
