      Fiat Gets Ready for the Indian Market

      Fiat India is getting ready to mark its entry in the Indian market once again with a complete image makeover. It plans to roll out its first Fiat Linea from its Ranjangaon manufacturing unit in December. The Italian auto maker has also announced a slew of offers on its existing models like Palio petrol and diesel version.

      Fiat Palio petrol is cheaper by Rs. 40000 accompanied with a free audio system. The sports variant of Fiat Palio is available at a cash discount of Rs. 50000 and the multijet 1.3L diesel variant is available at Rs. 20000 discount. These offers are valid till December 31, 2008.

      Fiat India Automobiles is an equal joint venture between Fiat and India’s Tata Motors. It has already commenced production of its most awaited model, Fiat Linea and will also roll out Fiat’s hatch back model, Grand Punto after the Linea marks its entry in the Indian market. Grand Punto will also be manufactured in the Indian plant which has a manufacturing capacity of up to 200,000 units.

      Fiat also plans to export engines from the same plant which has a manufacturing capacity to produce 3.33 lakh engines per year. These engines will fulfill the domestic as well as overseas demands for Fiat models.
