One of India’s costliest cars, the Fiat Cinquecento will be rolling into Kolkata next month. The new small car in West Bengal is priced at Rs. 15 lakh, which is a two-door model with a dynamite of an engine.
What is ironic here is that the costly small car will sit right next to world’s cheapest car in the dealer showrooms. Tata and Fiat have a 50:50 joint venture in India and plan to sell their models though a joint dealership network in India. Tata also plans to roll out its first batch of Nano by mid or end-February 2009. It will sell its model through the same dealers which will also showcase Fiat 500.
"Cinquecento will be here next month. The cutest and the most stylish small car in the world is sure to capture everyone's imagination," Fiat president and chief executive officer Rajeev Kapoor.
Lexus Motors is the largest dealership in Kolkata and both the cars are likely to be displayed at this showroom. "Fiat India is yet to finalize the dealership where it will be located but we are very eager to host a car that's so popular all over the world. It's a very exclusive car and should attract a lot of attention," Lexus Motors managing director Binod Agarwal said.
