Ferrari is all set to introduce the GTC4Lusso grand tourer in India on 2 August. A replacement to the FF, the GTC4Lusso was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The GTC4Lusso gets a more aggressive appearance compared to the docile FF. The aerodynamics improved the drag coefficient while there are muscular body extensions, sharp splitters, 458-esque headlamps, and flared wheel arches with breathing gills on the side fenders. The raked windshield of the GTC4Lusso means a low slung roof that almost extends to the back of the car – typical for shooting brakes. The dramatic quad tail lamps and exhaust tips complement the rear diffuser and the grand tourer is complete with all the right bulges that only an Italian car can pull off so beautifully.

Being a grand tourer, the plush interior is wrapped in all-leather with functionality written all over the cabin. The exquisite carbon fibre inserts laid together with brushed aluminium and cross-stitched upholstery makes the GTC4Lusso a typical Italian GT car. The Ferrari steering wheel is present, with a large touchscreen in the centre of the dashboard. Even the co-driver gets an exclusive instrument screen embedding the speed, rpm and gear-indicator. And with Ferrari offering personalisation options, the GTC4 can be configured to personal taste.

Powering the Ferrari GTC4Lusso is a glorious front-mid mounted 6.2-litre V12 churning out 680 bhp and rapidly scaling to 100kmph in mere 3.4seconds before the supercar tops out at 335kmph. The torque is rated at 697Nm at 5750rpm, of which 80 per cent is accessible to the right foot from as low as 1750rpm, says Ferrari. There’s also an improved version of the dual-gearbox transmission with Ferrari’s 4RM-S (four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering) system.

In India, the GTC4Lusso could be an expensive alternative to the Aston Martin DB11 or the Bentley Continental GT. Pricing for the Ferrari station wagon is expected to be somewhere around Rs 4.5 crore.
