Talk about sports cars and you indeed cannot miss the performance beauty – Ferrari, that comes straight from Italy. Back in 2011, Ferrari attempted to enter the domestic market via its single dealership outlet named Shreyans Group. But due to unknown reasons the partnership fell out and Ferrari severed the deal in April 2014. This time around the Italian sports carmaker has collaborated with two new dealerships - 'Navnit Motors' in Andheri, Mumbai and 'Select Cars' at Mathura Road, New Delhi, have been appointed as dedicated service and sales centers for the company.

A statement released by Ford in this regard reads, “Ferrari enjoys a passionate and enthusiastic following in India and is firmly committed to providing a class-leading sales and after-sales service in the country.” The Italian car-making company has been in talks with dealership outlets since past four months amd sources have stated that the company is indeed nervous about investing again this owing to its past not too-pleasant experiences.

The super luxury performance cars are priced in the country somewhere at about Rs. 2 crore to Rs 6 crore. Last year sales figures indicate that about 110 – 115 luxury cars were sold in the country and experts further go on to state that only about 50% - 60% of total inquiries received, have indeed managed to get converted into sales. One of the other reason cited for the decline in sales are a sudden rise in custom duty prices by about 100%.
