The newly unveiled Ferrari 488 Pista gets the most powerful V8 engine and has emerged as a successor to 458 Speciale which was introduced way back in 2013. Clearly, Pista here does not refer to the Indian nickname for Pistachio, it means ‘track’ in Italian. Built for track performance, the 488 Pista weighs about 90kgs lesser than the 488 GTB.

Mechanically, the Ferrari 488 Pista is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 which churns out a massive 711bhp of power and 770Nm of torque. The vehicle is capable of attaining a top speed of 340kmph and combined with a lesser body weight, the Pista is indeed quick on the race tracks. Reports indicate that the Ferrari 488 Pista is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in just about 2.85 seconds and 0-200kmph can be attained in about 7.6 seconds.

Based on what can be seen, the 488 Pista gets F1-inspired design elements and newly designed front diffusers which claims to increase the downforce by 20 per cent. Along with a host of fresh track-spec upgrades, for the first time ever, the company has introduced the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer in the 488 Pista. Additional details about the vehicle will be known post its official unveiling at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
