Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest passenger car maker, has introduced an automatic variant of Celerio, ZXI. The new version has Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), and Maruti Suzuki terms it Auto-Gear-Shift (AGS). The new version also features driver side airbag, but it lags Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Interestingly, the company has launched the new variant of Celerio on its first anniversary in the Indian auto market.
Coming to the technical specifications of the new variant, the car comes equipped with the same 1-liter K10B naturally aspirated petrol engine, churning out a maximum power of 67 bhp with 90 Nm of torque. The engine of this car has been mated to an AMT gearbox, enabling it to deliver a certified fuel efficiency of 23.1 kmpl. Highlighting the features of this model, the ZXI variant has drive side airbag, keyless entry and double-din audio system with radio, CD, USB, Bluetooth and AUX-in support. The car also has audio controls on the steering wheel, which is tilt-adjustable.
Along with, there is a rear wiper with washer and demister, whereas the outside rear view mirrors are electronically controlled. Apart from all these advancements, all the features of LXi and VXi are carried forward in the newly added ZXi version. With all these add-ons, the car has been priced at Rs. 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
