As you can see in the pictures, our photographers caught the Mini Cooper Convertible testing, and this comes after the hard top Mini Cooper S was spied last month.

Since this upgrade is slated to only be a facelift, there will just be minor updates to the head and tail lamps, bonnet and rear bumper. And these are obvious from the masked sections of the test mule that was spied. However, the highlight would be an upgraded cabin where more features will find their way into the car, like a revised infotainment system and some more trims on the already long list of optional equipment.

Sources speculate that the facelifted Mini Coopers will continue to use the same series of engines, albeit in a different state of tune. There’s even talk of the John Cooper Works GP version, but prospective buyers will have to wait it out as this iteration usually gets introduced towards the end of the model’s lifespan. Expect the facelifted Mini Coopers to hit showrooms later this year and soldier-on until 2019, which is when the all-new Mini Cooper is expected to arrive.
