Maruti Suzuki will update the Ciaz next year and ahead of its debut, the car has been spotted doing the testing rounds in India. This will be a mid-life update for the sedan and will be the most major update the Ciaz has seen since its arrival in 2014.

The updates for the Ciaz will be along the lines of what we saw on the Chinese spec Alivio sedan. The changes include a new face, bumpers as well as design for the alloy wheels. The cabin is expected to remain more or less the same but with a major update for the infotainment system.

However, the biggest change for the Ciaz is expected to be a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will debut with the Ciaz. This will eventually make its way to cars like the Ertiga, S-Cross and maybe even the Vitara Brezza. The petrol option is expected to stay the same and in this case will be the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol motor producing 94bhp/130Nm.

The Ciaz is a constant seller for Maruti and consistently, the automaker is able to move between 5000-6500 units every month. This mid-life update will no doubt see the car’s position as a C-segment performer cemented. We believe that Maruti will showcase the car at Delhi 2018 before launching it a few months later.
