The Ducati 1299 Panigale R Final Edition has been launched in India at Rs 59.18 lakhs (ex-showroom). The last in the line of Ducati L-twin superbikes, the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition can be booked for a token amount of Rs 10 lakhs.
A racy tricolore paint scheme sets the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition apart from the standard 1299 Panigale. The underpinnings and suspension is similar to the 1199 Panigale R WSBK homologation special, but at the heart of the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition is the 1299 Superquadro powerplant. The engine delivers 206bhp and 142Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission. It breathes out through a lightweight titanium Akrapovic exhaust. The electronics package features the best that Ducati has to offer – a six-axis IMU, power modes, traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, engine braking and a quickshifter.
Unlike the 1299 Superleggera, the 1299 Panigale R Final Edition isn’t a limited edition bike, although we are sure only a handful of examples would be allocated for the Indian market. It competes against the MV Agusta F4 RC and the Kawasaki Ninja H2R.
