      Dr. Markus Braunsperger is appointed the Chief Technology Officer of Hero MotoCorp

      The largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, Hero MotoCorp, has announced the appointment of Dr. Markus Braunsperger, the globally acclaimed automotive technology expert as its Chief technology Officer. This decision shows the auto manufacturer’s dream of becoming a world class company in the near future. Global alliances, world-class alliances and a path-breaking infrastructure will definitely lead Hero to the path of global success.

      Dr Markus has joined the Hero MotoCorp as its CTO from October 15th and he comes from the renowned German automobile manufacturer, BMW. There he spent nearly 25 years covering the entire R&D department, corporate strategy as well as production. His most important contribution was spearheading the R&D section of the motorcycle division of BMW for several years. Apart from these, he was also influential in the engineering division and was behind the largest implantation of modern motorcycle models at BMW. Also during his tenure, he was the Head of the BMW’s 4-wheeler line-up of models like the 5, 6 and 7 range of cars as well as X6, X5, X4 and X3 cars.

      Pawan Munjal, Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Hero MotoCorp Limited, said, “We have taken immense strides in building our in-house R&D capabilities over the past three years. We have also significantly scaled up our technology know-how by building a team of highly-skilled engineers and designers from all over the world, and used alliances with leading global technology and design firms to imbibe world class best practices and processes. I am pleased that Markus will now lead our efforts to take our R&D capabilities to an even higher level. With his wealth of domain expertise and global experience, Markus is going to play an integral role in leading Hero’s multi-location R&D eco-system.”

      Dr. Markus was available for his comments on becoming the CTO of Hero MotoCorp. He said, “This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me. Pawanji’s passion and vision for Hero convinced me to accept this opportunity to lead R&D at the world’s largest two-wheeler firm at a very interesting point of time in its evolution. Pawanji has a clear vision for Hero MotoCorp and all of us at the R&D team are very excited to deliver on that commitment. Hero already has lined-up a range of exciting new products for the next few years, and I am going to work closely with the team to keep up the momentum and keep developing winning products for every market around the world that we enter.”

      Apart from this, Harjeet Singh has been appointed the Head of the newly-established Global Regulatory Faction, reporting to Pawan Munjal directly. He was the leader of the R&D function with the Hero MotoCorp for several years in the past.
