      Domestic sales of Honda Cars India dipped 26 per cent in February

      Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL), the completely owned division of Japan-based Honda motor Company, has registered a fall of 26.49 per cent in its domestic sales for the month of February 2013 with figures standing at 6,510 units. In a statement, HCIL said that during the same month of 2012, the auto maker delivered 8,856 units in the Indian auto market. Besides its domestic sales, the auto maker also shipped 510 units from the country in February 2013.

      During the month, the auto maker delivered 3,271 units of its iconic sedan City, whereas the Brio hatchback was able to find 2,916 new buyers. Honda India also sold 185 units of its premium hatchback Jazz with 21 units of Civic sedan. The premium sedan Accord managed to find 62 new buyers in the country.

      With the fall in sales during February 2013, the auto maker seems all set to bring its new models in the country, which might turn the tides in its favor. Heading the list, Honda Amaze will mark its entry in the Indian auto market, featuring the first diesel engine of the auto maker in country. The launch of Brio Diesel and new utility vehicles is also on the cards of Honda India.
