As the launch of facelifted Polo inches closer, more details have been revealed on the updated Polo. Volkswagen will launch the refreshed Polo in India on July 15, 2014. Prominent changes have been made in the engine set up of the new Polo range, other than this a couple of cosmetic changes have also been bestowed on the upgraded Polo.
Cosmetic changes include a reworked bumper in the front affixed with a chrome strip running over the air dam. Insignificant tweaks have been made to the tail lights, revamped fog lamps and double barell head lamps equipped in the front are among the noticeable changes made to the exteriors of the hatchback. The front grille has been retained; however it now comes with a single chrome strip positioned at the bottom. Ten spoke alloy wheels affixed on the wheel arches render a chic look to the vehicle.
Interiors too have been spruced up, inclusion of a new redesigned three spoke steering wheel with new buttons, minorly tweaked instrument cluster and dashboard layout sporting insignificant changes comprise changes made to the refreshed Polo. Instrument cluster is majorly same except for the multi-information display which has looks more intricate. Similarly dashboard remain unchanged though it now comes in two tone color scheme.
Volkswagen Polo diesel range will include the new 1.5 litre TDI powertrain replacing the previous 1.2 litre diesel mill. The new 1.5 litre diesel motor will offer two states of tunes-89 Bhp and 103 Bhp. The 103 Bhp diesel motor will be housed in GT TDI trim. Petrol trims of new Polo will come powered with the same 1.2 litre gasoline motor as seen in its predecessor. Besides this, a new 1.2 litre turbocharged petrol engine will also be made available on the GT TSI.
Changes made to the hatchback can bump up the price by Rs 25000 to Rs 30000, however details will be unfolded on the day of launch.
