United Kingdom is home to over 40 carmakers, including seven of the world's top 10 companies. A delegation of 26 companies visited Delhi Auto Expo 2008 and found India to be an interesting destination for its automotive industry. The UK automotive industry accounts for nearly 11 percent of the total exports from the UK. The companies now look at the 10th Auto Expo in New Delhi to explore more business opportunities in the fast emerging Indian auto market.

This year also at least 16 British companies will be present at the UK pavilion at the Delhi Auto Expo at Pragati Maidan. Moreover, Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders, UK (SMMT) will have a seminar on Low Carbon Vehicle Technology in association with Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on January 06, at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi.

Northwest Development Agency (NWDA), Northwest Automotive Alliance (NAA) and UK Trade and Investment will also participate in the Auto Expo. The mission allows companies to have the option to take an individual stand space as part of the UK pavillion, to participate in tailored seminars aimed at showcasing regional capabilities.

These country specific pavilions open ample bilateral business opportunities for both the countries. Indian consumers will also have a global exposure of products and services offered by overseas automotive companies and their finest products.
