The Datsun RediGo has turned out to be one of the most successful models for Nissan, consistently selling more than 3,000 units a month since its launch. Riding on the success Datsun has introduced the RediGo Sport, a racier version of the RediGo    for a price tag of Rs 3.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi with an eye on the upcoming festive season. Also present at the launch was Indian Olympic medal winning wrestler Sakshi Malik, the new brand ambassador for Datsun India.

The RediGo Sport gets a brand new dual-tone paint job and looks tasteful. A thick black stripe runs through the length of the car starting from the centre of the hood and gets a pin-stripe on each side.  The chrome grille bezel is also dipped in black with honeycomb mesh grille getting a sporty red highlight. The air-dam lip also gets the black treatment and looks mean with the LED daytime running lamps. The RediGo Sport comes in red, white and grey colour options with the black highlights.

The doors also get the stripe treatment along their length and the profile looks premium with the blacked out wheel caps with a red highlight. The B-pillar as well as the window garnishes are done in black along with the wing mirrors. The stripe continues to the tail with the bumper having its lower half dipped in black to complete the two-tone look. Under the hood, it is the same 799cc three cylinder petrol engine from the RediGo that develops 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that powers the front wheels.

The RediGo Sport comes with all-black interiors with red highlights on the steering wheel, the dashboard and also on the upholstery. Being a top-spec car, gets manual air-conditioning with heater, electric power steering, power windows and a driver side airbag. It gets engine immobiliser and central locking with remote. The audio system gets Bluetooth while the car is offered with rear parking sensors for the first time.

To be offered for a limited time for the festive season ahead, the RediGo sport will compete against the Renault Kwid, the Maruti Alto K10, the Hyundai Eon and its sibling the Datsun Go.
