      Datsun Redi-Go based micro crossover launch likely in 2016

      Nissan, the Japanese automaker, is aiming to improve its market share in the highly competitive Indian car market. At the launch of the second Datsun product- the Go+ MPV, Nissan announced that the company plans to add more products in its lineup and has shifted its aim of acquiring 10 per cent share by 2020. Interestingly, the maker has fastened the process of introducing the third Datsun car in the country.

      It was speculated that the Japanese automaker will launch the redi-Go based micro SUV in 2017; however, the vehicle is now launching in 2016. At the launch of Go+ MPV, Vincent Cobee, Corporate Vice President & Global Head of Datsun said that the company has been studying the Indian market with its first car- the Go hatchback and the maker is now confident to launch their third car much earlier than it was scheduled. It is expected that the Redi-Go Crossover will hit the Indian shores by the mid of 2015.

      Nissan India is also working on expanding Datsun dealership network in the country. In the next two years, the dealership network for the Datsun in India will be 158. The maker is aiming to target semi-urban and urban cities of the country.
