Nissan India will launch the much-awaited Datsun Go+ MPV in the country on January 15, 2015. It will be the first of its kind offering in the MPV space, and is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 4 lakh to 6 lakh. The Go+ MPV is basically the extended version of the Go hatchback, and offers a seat for 7 adults in 2+3+2 layout. The bookings for the country's first sub-compact MPV have already commenced at a token amount of Rs. 11,000 (refundable).

It was speculated that the Go+ MPV will be offered in petrol version only; however, the company is also aiming to reach out to maximum buyers. If reports are to be believed, the maker is planning to also introduce the CNG equipped variant of this MPV but at later stage. The Datsun Go+ MPV gets the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 68PS and 104Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels of the MPV via a five-speed manual gearbox. The same engine will power the CNG model, but it will see a slight drop in power figures.

The CNG kit will utilize the small boot space, as the CNG model will not offer any storage space at the back. The regular variant will continue to get the third row of seats, which can only accommodate kids. But the seats can be folded to offer a decent luggage space. The CNG variant of the MPV is likely to be priced around Rs. 40,000 more than the standard model.
