As we reported yesterday, Datsun has started testing its GO+ MPV in India, here we are with the spy shots of the MPV being tested in Chennai near the Nissan-Renault joint manufacturing unit. Datsun will most likely roll out the MPV in India during festive season. The sub-four meter MPV will cross swords with the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and upcoming Honda Mobilio. Honda Mobilio is slated to launch in the month of July and will be above 4 meters in length. It is also being said that Honda is working towards making the third row spacious and more comfortable than its arch rivals, so that it gets an edge over them.

On the other hand being under four meters in length and getting a 1.2 litre petrol engine will make the MPV qualify for the low excise duty resulting in low price. Speculations suggest that Datsun could price GO+ MPV somewhere between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh making it the cheapest offering in its segment. GO+ MPV just like the GO hatchback has been conceived on the parent company, Nissan’s Micra hatchback. Therefore GO+ MPV will share similarities with the GO hatchback. Under the hood a 1.2 litre gasoline motor will be housed in the petrol variants and the diesel trims will come with 1.5 litre K9K diesel powertrains.
