Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), maker of the globally acclaimed Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks in the country, have announced their alliance with the Gmmco (Gmmco) Limited (a C K Birla Group Company) to enhance the service and maintenance of Actros trucks in the country. DICV aspires to build the reputation of Mercedes-Benz Actros among the Indian buyers and wants to assure its prospective customers with the premium features and performance of the trucks.
Gmmco Limited, a C K Birla Group Company, has been in operation for the last 40 years, in the sales and maintenance of mining and construction equipments along with engine power systems. The company will take control of the maintenance of Actros trucks throughout the country and has formulated a three way approach for its operations.
Reportedly, the first responsibility of Gmmco will be to provide on-site maintenance and service to the Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks employed in the mining regions across the country. Secondly, the company will set up on-site container facilities to ensure enhanced after-sales service for its customers that will be located in specific regions. Finally, on a large scale, Gmmco will be establishing well equipped workshops near major mining territories to provide quick and efficient service to its clients.

This will also ensure that our customers will be able to derive maximum advantage out of our top-of-the-line trucks and benefit with maximum up-time. With the start of production of the Mercedes-Benz trucks at our Oragadam plant, the Mercedes-Benz Actros business is well-consolidated to move ahead further.”
Commenting on the collaboration, H. We will offer comprehensive support to all customers through a multi-layered support system and ensure maximum productivity of the Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks.”
Reportedly, Gmmco has devised a special unit called ‘Gmmco HCV Division’ for handling its operations of Mercedes-Benz Actros Truck in Chennai. The company also plans to hire more than 200 technicians and 100 workers to be employed at site for the supervising its truck business between 2012 and 2013.
