      Amidst all the extravaganza of new car and bike launches at the Auto Expo 2014, concept cars add that extra glitter to the event. Amongst the list of unique ones at the event, two SUV concepts that stood out were the Liv-1 concept from from Ssanyong which is a Mahindra subsidiary in the country. The Ssanyong concept rechristened as LIV-1 stands for Limitless Interface Vehicle. Describing the Tata concept, Ravi Pisharody, Tata Motors Executive Director Commercial Vehicles, said, “The company’s new products translate into a great business proposition, combining low-cost ownership with driver comfort and high performance.”

      Explaining the Sanyong concept, officials said, “LIV-1 implies the meaning of Limitless Potentials and Limitless Joy which expresses the unlimited high performance and the value of large premium SUV concept.” The SUV is expected to be powered by a 2.0 litre engine borrowed from the Rexton line. As per sources the car may come with two wheel drive and four wheel drive options that maybe mated to either 6 speed manual transmission or a seven speed automatic transmission. Exact specifications have not been revealed for now and may be revealed at a later date when it undergoes production.

      The Ssanyong LIV-1 concept boasts of some interesting such as “smart link, “special sense” and” “safe way”. The interiors is spacious and neatly structured. On the exterior the car carries a matured stance, its bigger, better and bolder as compared to the existing SUV's in the country. Smooth flowing curves is something to watch out for in this SUV.

      Tata Nexon concept, the compact SUV is powered by 1.2 Revotron turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of generating about 110 PS of power with 170 Nm of torque. The powerful engine has been mated to a five speed automatic transmission. The Indian car-maker also plans to bring-in the diesel variant once the car begins on a mass scale production stage.

      The exterior front of the Nexon car features an aggressive stance, the car’s LED headlamps look bolder. The ground clearance is higher than any of the current SUV line from Tata. The double sliding door system looks impressive in the concept version. Moreover, the rear section features bucket seats which is the opposite of a conventional SUV. The new gun powdered silver wheel adds to the car's charismatic effect.
