Ford Figo Sports has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 6.31 lakh. The changes are primarily limited to cosmetic updates, while the mechanicals remains the same. Visual garnishes include a blacked-out grille, sportier bumpers, and smoked headlamps. The black treatment extends to the roof and ORVMs. Based on the Titanium trim, the Figo sports is available in new exciting colours across both petrol as well as diesel engine options. Here is a competition check on how it fares against its adversaries - Tata Bolt, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, and the Volkswagen Polo

      Figo

      Maruti Suzuki Swift

Ever since the Figo made its debut in India, it has always been gunning for the segment leader, the Swift. The Swift and Figo are evenly matched in terms of features and equipment. But the Figo takes away the brownie points for higher power figures and the automatic transmission. The Swift is also clearly more expensive of the two.

      Tata Bolt

The Figo has a bigger diesel engine compared to the Bolt and has better power outputs as well. The Bolt, however, is more spacious and comfortable, even though the Figo has larger dimensions. The Figo boast of six airbags, and the most potent automatic climate control. The Indian-bred Bolt loses out on automatic transmission, whereas Figo is available with a DCT transmission.

      Volkswagen Polo

This is the only car in the list with an engine powerful enough to offer a tough match to Figo. And it is also the most expensive one. The Polo is high on safety, but the Figo has an option of six airbags. Both the cars are equally fun to drive, but the German is heavier on the pocket with its superior build quality, handling and performance.

      Hyundai Grand i10

The Grand i10 underwent a mid-life update and a change of heart recently and a new infotainment system. The Figo is slightly more expensive than the Grand i10, but the Korean is overshadowed by the Figo in terms of power figures and size, and misses on the ABS which is available only on top-trim with no EBD.
