Citroen shows off CXperience concept ahead of the Paris Auto Show

Citroen has just showcased the CXperience concept; their visualization of an ultramodern design in a low and long hatchback with the size of an Audi A6.

Citroen unexpectedly decided to spill the beans well in advance of the proposed debut at the upcoming Paris Auto Show. We feel that the CXperience concept is an audacious exhibition of modern body style which also manages to look strange, to say the least. The huge dimensions are blown up even further by the large five spoke 22-inch. As much as the rear-hinged doors ease the entry for occupants into the cabin, the generous three metre wheelbase also plays a vital role here.

Inside the CXperience concept is a spectacular and spacious cabin that boldly splashes around a shade of citrus yellow. A generous portion of the console, seatbacks and door panels have been adorned by walnut wood trim. Also seen in the concept is Citroen’s legendary single-spoke steering wheel (like on the Citroen classic DS). A massive 19-inch rectangular dashboard screen shows vital information to the front occupants while offering other features.

Citroen’s CXperience will be powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain which uses the combination of a petrol engine that makes between 150bhp and 200bhp, and an electric motor that’s good for an additional 107bhp. Coupled to this powertrain is a transversally mounted eight-speed auto gearbox that sits between the electric motor and the petrol engine. Citroen added that the CXperience concept can run on only electric power for up to 60km.

We will bring you more on the CXperience once the Paris Motor Show gets rolling.
