Chevrolet Trailblazer, the all new sports utility vehicle from the global portfolio of US based leading car maker General Motors, will soon be marking its debut in the Indian auto market. The Chevrolet Trailblazer Concept SUV was introduced to the international market at the Dubai Auto Show, in the month of November 2011, where a large number of SUV lovers and enthusiasts were present to take the first glimpse of this model. The car is expected to be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year.
Based on the platform of Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, the new Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV will come powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine, which generates a peak power of 180 PS. In addition to this, a lesser powered 2.5-litre diesel engine will also be added in the line-up of the SUV, which is capable of outpouring a peak power of 150 PS.
It has been widely speculated that the upcoming Chevrolet Trailblazer will be priced in the segment of Rs 17 lakh and Rs 21 lakh, where it will be competing with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Nisan X-Trail, Renault Koleos, and Honda CR-V. The SUV will be brought to the Indian auto market through CKD (Completely knocked down) unit route, and will be assembled at the firm’s Halol plant in Gujarat.
