Chevrolet Bolt EV that was launched as a concept vehicle in Detroit last month has been one of the most anticipated vehicle that has been due for launch by the company. The vehicle is likely to be manufactured at a small car plant located in Detroit sometime in October 2016. The concept vehicle has reportedly been designed to cater to markets outside California too.

Initially, the company plans on producing only about 25,000 to 30,000 cars per year and may decide on increasing the numbers sometime later. In order to enable effient perfomance of electric drive technology, the engineeres have designed the vehicle using aluminum, carbon fibre and magnesium to keep the overall weight under check.
