The renowned manufacturers like Fiat and Maruti has registered their beliefs being matched with the upcoming trend of pro-CNG mindset.

Taking in consideration the Fiat Company, in the face of it, one can make out that Fiat is up to everything to rope in the CNG, and utilising maximum of it. If unconfirmed reports and news from here and there are taken into being, Fiat would be introducing the Fiat Palio in CNG. Maruti Suzuki has already taken up the same genre and of late, news contained plethora of blanket headlines about the Maruti's recent move. The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki launched its flagship CNG engine technology, 'intelligent-Gas Port Injection' or i-GPI over five popular models. The cars were the likes of SX4, Eeco, WagonR, Estilo and Alto and have been launched in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Gujarat. The event saw Mr. Jairam Ramesh, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Environment and Forests and other senior government dignitaries and Maruti Suzuki management team releasing the models.

During the launch event, the exuberant and proud Maruti Suzuki India Chairman RC Bhargava said “we are happy to bring contemporary CNG technology to the Indian customer. We are confident customers would value our i-GPI technology that is safe, reliable, clean, responsive and environment friendly. Adapting the CNG technology in our vehicles is another step to keep low cost of ownership for our customers.”

The i-GPI or Intelligent Gas Port Injection bi-fuel technology promises a ride that is steeped with extreme thinking and knowledge. As the CNG technology that is accompanied with the models is factory fitted, the customers will enjoy the full benefits of guarantee and warranty including extended warranty. Over 2700 Maruti service stations that will be stationed across the nation to hear from the customers is the icing on the cake. Maruti is the first company to come out with factory-fitted CNG cars. Earlier WagonR was also coming with a LPG variant, but Maruti Suzuki India stopped producing it after launching the new WagonR.

As far as reaching out to the Indians is concerned, it’s a cakewalk for the leader whose name exists in every household today. It is important to appreciate the tendency of the Maruti Company to show inclination towards environment friendly products that many makers turn a blind eye to.
