India has a new car servicing business, Carnation Auto, with nine centers across the nation. Ex-CEO of Maruti Suzuki, Jagdish Khattar, recently launched his multi-brand car servicing business in India. These centers have opened in Amritsar, Chennai, Noida, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kochi. It will open 30 more centers in India by the end of 2009. The company will provide a host of products and services, including value-added services like windshield repairs, car detailing, alternate kit fitment, tyre and battery zones.

Mr Khattar had earlier raised Rs 108 crore from investors PremjiInvest and IFCI Ventures for the new venture. Carnation Auto plans to invest a total of Rs 300 crore by 2011 to roll out 100 car service outlets. He also intends to venture into the used car business and its Mumbai center is currently doing pilot testing for the next business venture.

“The pilot project is part of the many businesses that Carnation will roll out subsequently but the initial focus will be on car servicing . Our auto solution hubs would meet all the needs of car owners under one roof,” Mr Khattar, who is the CMD of the firm, said. He also stated that the auto solution hubs of his company will provide everything a car owner would need to maximize his car ownership experience all under one roof.
