The third generation of the Cadillac CTS-V comes with a maximum output 649bhp and a shattering 855Nm of torque that’s unleashed from its 6.2-litre V8 engine. A paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard and helps it achieve a spirited 0-100kmph run in 3.7sec. This engine is equipped with a supercharger, direct injection and active fuel management (cylinder deactivation).

In addition to the CTS-V, the ATS-V sports saloon was also released with a 3.6-litre twin-turbo engine that produces 470bhp and 603Nm. This is the V-Series' first twin-turbo engine and the 0-100kmph is reached in 3.8sec.

Both vehicles get Cadillac’s third-generation magnetic ride control and can withstand circuit racing. Drivers can select modes like tour, sport, track (circuit racing) and even snow or ice. Though the primary market for these cars has been the United States since 2004, the Japanese market has had a taste of these high-end Cadillacs from the latter half of 2009.
